I. The Visitor. The Lord God. (1) The need of a Visitor. -Man’s lost and helpless condition. (2) The Promise. -"I will surely visit you" (Exo_3:16). (3) The Wonder. -"What is man that Thou visitest him. ?" (Psa_8:4). (4) The manner. -"God was in Christ reconciling the world" (2Co_5:19).<\/p>\n
II. The Visited. His People. (1) They knew Him not (Joh_1:11). (2) They knew not their time of visitation (Luk_19:44). (3) They rejected Him (Joh_19:14).<\/p>\n
III. The Purpose. To Redeem. (1) Who? Thy Maker is thy Redeemer (Isa_54:5). (2) How? By giving Himself a ransom (Mat_20:28). (3) What from? (Tit_2:14). (4) What to? To God, to holiness, and to service (Luk_1:74-75).<\/p>\n
