THE CHOICE OF MOSES.<\/p>\n
Heb_11:25.<\/p>\n
It is a blessed privilege to have an early godly training, but a personal choice must be made.<\/p>\n
I. What this choice was. "To suffer with the people of God." This implies-<\/p>\n
1. That God has a people (Exo_6:4; 1Pe_2:10).<\/p>\n
2. That they are a suffering people. "In the world ye shall have tribulation" (Mat_5:11; Php_3:10).<\/p>\n
II. What constrained Moses to make this choice? "Faith."<\/p>\n
1. By faith he saw the nature of godless pleasure. "Pleasures of sin" (Dan. 5; Rev_3:17-20).<\/p>\n
2. By faith he saw the riches of Christ. "Esteeming reproach for Christ greater riches," etc. (1Pe_4:14).<\/p>\n
3. By faith he saw the rewards of eternity. "He had respect unto the recompense of the reward" (Luk_11:26). "In the world to come eternal life" (Mar_5:30).<\/p>\n
III. What this choice implied.<\/p>\n
1. A refusing (Luk_11:24; Php_3:7).<\/p>\n
2. A forsaking (Luk_11:27; 2Co_6:17).<\/p>\n
IV. How he was sustained in his choice. "He endured, as seeing Him who is invisible" (Luk_11:27).<\/p>\n
Seeing Him who is invisible gives-<\/p>\n
1. Patience in trial, Heb_11:27<\/p>\n
2. Strength for the battle, Jos_5:14<\/p>\n
3. Comfort in affliction, Psa_23:4<\/p>\n
4. Support in death, Acts 7<\/p>\n
