THE FAITHFUL SAYING<\/p>\n
1Ti_1:15<\/p>\n
This is the Apostle’s own testimony, a declaration of his own experience (1Ti_1:12-15). The "saying" is not his own, he got it from others. It is of world-wide significance.<\/p>\n
I. It Reveals the Love of God. Nature may seem "red, tooth and claw." God is love.<\/p>\n
II. It Reveals the Grace of Christ "Christ Jesus came into the world." "Where from? What to do? (1Co_8:9).<\/p>\n
III. It Reveals the Need of Man. "Came into the world to save sinners." He came not as a capitalist to assist in case of failure, but as a Saviour to save.<\/p>\n
IV. It is a Faithful Saying. It is in perfect accord with the character of God and the condition of men. It has come from the lips of Him who is the Truth (Joh_7:17).<\/p>\n
V. It is Worthy of all Acceptation. Worthy of being accepted by all, and worthy of being altogether accepted by ail classes and conditions of men.<\/p>\n
