The brill, or pearl fish, is somewhat like a turbot, and is known by its white pearly spots. But pearly spots don’t make pearls, although pearls may have spots. A man may be spotted with many Christian characteristics and yet be as far from being a Christian as the brill is from a pearl. God’s children may have spots, but the spots do not make them children. "Ye are the children of God by faith" (Gal_3:26).<\/p>\n
