PSA 130:4. FORGIVENESS WITH GOD"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Psa_130:4. Forgiveness with God<\/p>\n<p>&quot;There is forgiveness with thee.&quot;&#8217;97Psa_130:4.<\/p>\n<p>1. Man stands in Need of Forgiveness.<\/p>\n<p>He is guilty; without plea; without the means of reparation or satisfaction. This is true of all men. &quot;All have sinned,&quot; &amp;c. All are condemned; and without forgiveness, all must perish.<\/p>\n<p>II. God only can forgive.<\/p>\n<p>He is our lawgiver. His authority we have contemned. Rebels to him. Enemies to him. None can dispense life or death but himself. Human forgiveness would avail nothing. &quot;Who can forgive sins, but God only?&quot; Mar_2:7. &quot;There is forgiveness with thee;&quot; Mic_7:18.<\/p>\n<p>III. God has made Provision for the Forgiveness of Sin.<\/p>\n<p>By the appointment of his only Son, as a sacrifice for sin. Punished sin to the utmost, in the person of the surety. Laid our sins upon him; Isa_53:6. He bare them; and died that we might have a full remission of them; Act_5:31; Act_13:38; Eph_1:7; Luk_24:47.<\/p>\n<p>IV. God has revealed the only Way of Forgiveness.<\/p>\n<p>By repentance towards himself, and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Act_3:19-21; Act_10:43; Rom_2:26; Rom_10:8-13; Isa_55:7.<\/p>\n<p>V. God Desires and is ever Ready to Forgive.<\/p>\n<p>Hence he exhorts, invites, expostulates, forbears; and it is only when forgiving love is totally and finally rejected, that he executes his displeasure upon the ungodly. He is ready to forgive sin, however deep the stains&#8217;97however enormous&#8217;97however aggravated&#8217;97however long-continued. He is ready to forgive all sin, and every sinner. Col_2:13; Eph_2:3-19. Manasseh. Publican. Dying thief. Jerusalem sinners. Saul of Tarsus. Corinthians, &amp;c. See Mat_12:31.<\/p>\n<p>VI. There is Forgiveness with God now.<\/p>\n<p>He is now ready to forgive. &quot;Behold, now is the accepted time,&quot; &amp;c.
