Sanctification God’s Work<\/p>\n
"Faithful is He that calleth you, who also will do it" (1Th_5:24).<\/p>\n
When we think about separation from the world and cleansing within and a life wholly yielded to God, we wonder how it can be accomplished.<\/p>\n
The Bible says, "The very God of Peace sanctify you wholly" (1Th_5:23).<\/p>\n
The Bible says of God: "Who also will do it" (1Th_5:24).<\/p>\n
It is quite as impossible for one to carry out the full meaning of sanctification, apart from the empowering of the Holy Spirit, as it would be for one to crucify himself.<\/p>\n
The life of sanctification certainly begins in the yielded will; but man cannot, alone, work out the riches of this life.<\/p>\n
We turn our back upon the world; He gives us the power to forsake the world.<\/p>\n
We confess our sins; He cleanses us from our sins.<\/p>\n
We yield ourselves to God; He receives our yielded offering. We desire to serve Him, He says: "All power is given unto Me in Heaven and in earth. * * "Go * * I am with you" (Mat_28:18-20).<\/p>\n
In sanctification, as in every sphere of Christian experience and life, Christ is All, and in all.<\/p>\n
There is nothing apart from Him.<\/p>\n
Apart from Christ we can do nothing. In Christ and through Him who strengtheneth us, we can do all things.<\/p>\n
Thus it is Christ who is made unto us sanctification. He is the One who enables us.<\/p>\n
He gives us victory in our separation from the world.<\/p>\n
He cleanses us in life and gives us power to walk in the newness of life.<\/p>\n
He accepts of our consecration and enables us to be faithful in following Him in all things.<\/p>\n
Sanctified wholly by power Divine,<\/p>\n
Living and walking by power not mine;<\/p>\n
Looking to Jesus while glory doth shine,<\/p>\n
Moment by moment, O Lord, I am Thine.<\/p>\n
