Second Coming Instils Sanctification<\/p>\n
"And every man that hath this hope in Him purifieth himself, even as He is pure" (1Jn_3:3).<\/p>\n
God wants us to be preserved blameless unto the Coming of the Lord. As we consider the thought of Christ’s imminent Return, we are led to separate ourselves from the world.<\/p>\n
If Christ may appear at any moment, we should at every moment be living soberly, righteously and Godly in this present world.<\/p>\n
When the Coming of Christ grips the heart and the life, it purifies the heart and the life.<\/p>\n
Illustration: Brother Dowkont, of New York city, told us that his little boy one day said: "Papa, may Jesus come again at any moment?" The father answered, "Yes." Then after a few moments of reflection, the young lad said:–"Then, papa, we’ll have to be on the job all the time."<\/p>\n
In Col_3:4 we read of Christ’s Appearing in glory and of our appearing with Him. Then in Col_3:5 we get the aftermath: "Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth".<\/p>\n
Sanctification and the separated, cleansed, and dedicated life is all intimately connected with the Second Coming of Christ.<\/p>\n
When Christ’s Second Coming<\/p>\n
Grips firmly the heart,<\/p>\n
From sin and all evil<\/p>\n
We surely will part;<\/p>\n
The Hope will correct us,<\/p>\n
Our hearts sanctify,<\/p>\n
And we will rejoice that<\/p>\n
His Coming is nigh.<\/p>\n
