The Love of God–The Scope of His Love<\/p>\n
"For God so loved the world * * that whosoever" (Joh_3:16).<\/p>\n
If we are to be possessed of the "love of God" we must be prepared at once to take the whole world, and "whosoever" into the yearning of our heart.<\/p>\n
We see at once that the scope of God’s love must forever be the goal of missions. If we are to "receive the benediction," so far as the "love of God" is concerned, we must have a heart large enough to encompass all men.<\/p>\n
That believer who is content with another man’s line of things made ready to hand, knows nothing of the wideness of God’s love.<\/p>\n
The arm and ambition of the true Gospel herald is "to preach the Gospel in the regions beyond you." It is this: "We must preach the Gospel in the next towns also".<\/p>\n
If we know the love of God we wall not stop until every man on earth has heard the message, and known the saving Gospel of Jesus Christ.<\/p>\n
If we possess the love of Christ, we will hasten to bear unto all nations and to the uttermost part of the earth the salvation that there is in Christ.<\/p>\n
"Out in the desert lost ones are straying,<\/p>\n
Little ones dying from hunger and cold.<\/p>\n
O for a passion that seeks till it finds them,<\/p>\n
Bringing them back to the joys of the fold.<\/p>\n
"Out in the streets and the lanes of the city,<\/p>\n
Sin-blinded spirits hopelessly roam,<\/p>\n
O for a passion to tell the glad story,<\/p>\n
Bidding them welcome to Heaven and Home.<\/p>\n
"Out in the highways and hedges of error,<\/p>\n
Souls are in danger of vipers that sting.<\/p>\n
O for a passion to haste, to compel them,<\/p>\n
Winning them into the feast of the King."<\/p>\n
"Out beyond city, beyond highways and hedges,<\/p>\n
Multitudes rush to death and the grave.<\/p>\n
O for a passion to tell them the story<\/p>\n
Of One who was slain, the sinner to save."<\/p>\n
Only as we have the whole lost world in our love, will we have the "love of God."<\/p>\n
