This is the will of God. Sarah died and the home was depleted; Rebekah came to establish, upon the wreckage of the one, another home, and Isaac was comforted.

The word "home" carries with it the choicest perfumes. No word so grips the heart and none so stirs the soul.

John Howard Payne struck the keynote of the heart’s affection when he wrote:

"Amid pleasures and palaces, though we may roam,

Be it ever so humble, there is no place like home;

A charm from the skies seems to hallow us there,

Which seek through the world, is ne’er met with elsewhere,

Home, home, sweet, sweet home,

Be it ever so humble, there’s no place like home."

Home is the most sacred and the most hallowed place on earth, but "home" to reach its climax of glory, must be a place where God is the recognized Head.

Home has the most far-reaching results of any other possible place on earth, for while other places may be dedicated to the instruction and uplift of those who dwell in homes; yet the home is the fountain-head from which the stream of life flows. Home furnishes the boys and the girls that make the state or the church.

From the home formed by Abraham and Sarah, and sustained by Isaac and Rebekah, a stream of life came forth that has blessed the world and is yet destined to even more greatly bless the world; when the Israelites, all of whom are children of Isaac and Rebekah, are once more restored to their own land and blessed, become a world-wide blessing.

Bless God, for a home ordained and safeguarded in God.

Autor: R.E.
