David&apos;s Displeasure"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>David&#8217;s Displeasure<\/p>\n<p>&quot;And David was displeased, because the Lord had made a breach upon Uzza: wherefore the name of that place is called Perez-uzza&quot; (1Ch_13:11).<\/p>\n<p>David was displeased with the Lord, not with himself. He blamed God, not David.<\/p>\n<p>How often do we bring upon ourselves merited censure and merited hurt, and then we blame God for it.<\/p>\n<p>The same sun that burns, lightens our pathway. The same electric current that sends a bolt of death through the one who crosses its pathway, sends power to the one who harnesses it.<\/p>\n<p>The God Who slew Uzza, and Who slew Christ, is the same God of Whom it was said: &quot;In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.&quot;<\/p>\n<p>&quot;Behold, therefore the goodness and the severity of God.&quot; If we believe, if we receive, if we obey, goodness: if we reject, if we refuse, if we disobey, severity.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;He that believeth hath everlasting life.&quot;<\/p>\n<p>&quot;He that believeth not shall not see life.&quot;<\/p>\n<p>A Levite, carrying the Ark&#8211;alive, blessed, rewarded.<\/p>\n<p>Uzza touching the Ark&#8211;judged, condemned, dead in the road.<\/p>\n<p>Had David read the Book of God, that gave minute instructions as to how the Ark should be taken, there would have been no breach made upon Uzza.<\/p>\n<p>Let us seek causes.
