The Raising of Lazarus<\/p>\n
The miracles, as well as the parables, have wonderful spiritual lessons. In our treatment of "The Raising of Lazarus," we are letting physical death and resurrection type the spiritually dead and raised.<\/p>\n
The sinner is dead in trespasses and sins, and when we are saved we are raised with Christ to walk in newness of life; therefore our lesson is Scripturally drawn, and true in its type.<\/p>\n
1.\tThere is the fact of death–and all are dead in sins. <\/p>\n
2.\tThere is the compassionate Christ, Who "commendeth His love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." <\/p>\n
3.\tThere is our part in leading our unsaved ones to Christ, expressed in "Roll ye away the stone." <\/p>\n
4.\tThere is the Divine power to save the greatest sinners, seen in "Lazarus, come forth." <\/p>\n
5.\tThere is the presence of the old nature, and the old life, expressed by the "grave clothes" that bound Lazarus. <\/p>\n
6.\tThere is the promise of victory over sin, in "Loose him." <\/p>\n
7.\tThere is the place of service, in "Let him go."<\/p>\n
