The Iron Did Swim"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Iron Did Swim<\/p>\n<p>&quot;And he cat down a stick, and cast it in thither; and the iron did swim&quot; (2Ki_6:6).<\/p>\n<p>It is just here that many want to part with the story of the Lost Axe Head. What a shame! Some want to take away the miraculous from the Word of God. They will follow God along seemingly natural lines, but when He does a deed that is contrary to nature; a deed wherein He shows Himself the God of nature, and the God of the miraculous, they immediately demur.<\/p>\n<p>Why seek to explain away the mighty workings of a mighty God? We know well enough that Elisha had no power within himself to make an iron axe head to swim; we know also that the three Hebrew children could not charm the fire in the furnace, wherein they were cast; we know that Joshua could not make the sun stand still&#8211;we know, however, that, with God, all things are possible.<\/p>\n<p>The leopard cannot change his spots, nor the Ethiopian his skin; but God can change them. &quot;Whether is it easier [for Christ] to say to the sick of the palsy, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or, to say, Arise, take up thy bed, and walk?&quot; Whether is easier for God, to make an axe head swim, or to restore a backslider to his wonted place of power and of service?<\/p>\n<p>The iron did swim.<\/p>\n<p>The sinner was saved.<\/p>\n<p>The backslider was forgiven and restored.<\/p>\n<p>All are miraculous, all are of God, all are possible.<\/p>\n<p>The iron did swim.<\/p>\n<p>Christ came forth from the grave, &quot;He is risen indeed.&quot;<\/p>\n<p>Christ ascended in a cloud and was seated at the right hand of power.<\/p>\n<p>All are miraculous, all are of God, all are possible.<\/p>\n<p>Autor: R.E.
