In Adam All Are Judged and Under Condemnation–In Christ Jesus All Are Justified and There Is No Condemnation<\/p>\n
"And not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offences onto justification" (Rom_5:16).<\/p>\n
1. "For the judgment was by one unto condemnation." The sentence of God pronounced upon Adam, passed upon the whole race, upon every son of Adam.<\/p>\n
When Adam sinned he heard the curse of God. It fell upon him, upon his wife, and upon the ground for his sake.<\/p>\n
Adam was driven out from the garden. He went out a child of wrath. Over his head hung the judgment of a just God; in his ears rang the words of his condemnation.<\/p>\n
Over every sinner since Adam there is written the condemnation: "Thou art weighed in the balances, and art found wanting." His ears can always hear the words, "He that believeth not is condemned already."<\/p>\n
The unsaved are also treasuring up unto themselves "wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God" (Rom_2:5).<\/p>\n
The judgment of God is a just judgment. Each man will be judged according to his works.<\/p>\n
The sinner is judged unto condemnation–he will hear his sentence of death read, and he will pass from the presence of the Great White Throne, condemned, under the righteous judgment of God.<\/p>\n
2. "The free gift is of many offences unto justification." Not but that every one who enters Heaven was guilty of many offenses–all were guilty–but they believed, they received the atonement and by virtue of the Blood of Christ, their sins were taken away. By faith they were justified, and "there is now therefore no condemnation to them that are in Christ Jesus," they have passed from condemnation to justification.<\/p>\n
"Free from the Law, oh, happy condition!<\/p>\n
Jesus hath died, and there is remission;<\/p>\n
Cursed by the Law and bruised by the fall,<\/p>\n
Christ hath redeemed us once for all."<\/p>\n
The thunders of Sinai hold no terrors to the one who is in Christ Jesus. Christ has become a covert from the storm of God's wrath.<\/p>\n
Our stripes were on Him; He bore our sins and carried our sorrows; He suffered for us, the Just for the unjust; He bore our sins in His own body on the tree.<\/p>\n
The judgments of God have no terrors to the born-again ones. They have passed from judgment unto life.<\/p>\n
There is no condemnation to believers, for "he that believeth on Him is not condemned."<\/p>\n
No one can lay anything to the charge of God's elect, for it is God who justifieth.<\/p>\n
No one can condemn the justified; for "it is Christ Who condemneth," and Christ has died for us, and He is risen again, and He is at the Father's right hand making intercession for us. He pleads our cause and cannot condemn us.<\/p>\n
Thus, the saved can rejoice! By their new birth they have become the sons of God; they are children of blessing and not children of cursing; they are sons of light and not sons of darkness; they are children of the bridechamber and not children of wrath.<\/p>\n
