Peace and the Two Comings<\/p>\n
"And His name shall be called * * The Prince of Peace" (Isa_9:6).<\/p>\n
1. In the First Coming, personal peace was offered to all who came unto Him. The message of the angel was: "Unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord" (Luk_2:11).<\/p>\n
And the angels responded: "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, to men of good will."<\/p>\n
This peace is a personal peace. Christ did not come in His First Coming to bring universal peace. He said, "I came not to bring peace upon the earth, but a sword."<\/p>\n
However, personal peace may now be obtained by all who come to Christ. "Come unto Me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest" (Mat_11:28).<\/p>\n
The final words of Christ were, "Peace I leave with you, My peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled neither let it be afraid" (Joh_14:21).<\/p>\n
If there is an unsaved one who reads these words, let him receive the Lord Jesus now.<\/p>\n
2. In the Second Coming, universal peace will be given to mankind. "Of the increase of His government and peace there shall be no end" (Isa_9:7).<\/p>\n
When Christ reigns, righteousness and truth will kiss one another, and peace and equity will be established.<\/p>\n
Nations will no longer lift up sword against nation, neither will they learn war any more.<\/p>\n
Thank God, for the blessed hope of the coming and enduring peace!<\/p>\n
