{"id":25810,"date":"2016-08-20T00:22:13","date_gmt":"2016-08-20T05:22:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.biblia.work\/sermons\/0018-16-again\/"},"modified":"2016-08-20T00:22:13","modified_gmt":"2016-08-20T05:22:13","slug":"0018-16-again","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.biblia.work\/sermons\/0018-16-again\/","title":{"rendered":"0018.     16. \u201cAgain\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>16. \u201cAgain\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The importance, intensity, and repetition of a given act, or the statement of a truth, is seen in the word palin, rendered \u201cagain.\u201d The importance of distinguishing words given \u201cagain\u201d is seen if we contrast two other words. \u201cAgain\u201d should be \u201cabove\u201d in the sentence, \u201cBorn from above\u201d (John 3 is given \u201cabove\u201d in Joh_3:31). Another word, \u201cagain,\u201d is the word associated with Christ rising \u201cagain\u201d from the dead. It means to stand up. Strictly speaking, \u201cagain\u201d can only be applied to a second act. Christ did rise the second time. He was standing in life before He died, and He stood up again in resurrection; but in the instances where palin is used of Christ, it means a repetition.<\/p>\n<p>1. Life Given and Taken. \u201cI lay down My life, that I may take it again\u201d (Joh_10:17-18). Here is the double purpose of deliberate action. His death and resurrection were no accident.<\/p>\n<p>2. \u201cWritten\u201d and \u201cWritten Again.\u201d To Satan\u2019s partial quotation of Scripture, Christ gave him an utterance of full statement. \u201cJesus said to him, It is written again\u201d (Mat_4:7).<\/p>\n<p>3. Hands Upon Eyes and Again. There was a double touch with Christ in His healing of the blind man\u2014Mar_8:23-25.<\/p>\n<p>4. Christ\u2019s Repeated Statement. The disciples were astonished at Christ\u2019s teaching about riches, but He emphasised His statement by repeating it\u2014Mar_10:23, Mar_10:24.<\/p>\n<p>5. Peace and Peace. \u201cJesus saith to them again\u201d (Joh_20:21). He gives a double peace. The peace of the Cross and the peace of Himself\u2014Joh_14:27.<\/p>\n<p>6. Prayer and Prayer. \u201cHe went away again\u201d (Mat_26:42, Mat_26:44). To pray again is to get into the heart of things.<\/p>\n<p>7. Coming and Coming. \u201cI will come again\u201d (Joh_14:3).
