89. Chain of Golden Links<\/p>\n
2Co_5:17-21<\/p>\n
1. Divine Origin. \u201cIf any man be in Christ Jesus he is a new creation\u201d (margin). The Christian life is an implantation of the Divine, a translation into the Divine, and a reproduction of the Divine.<\/p>\n
2. Divine Operation. \u201cAll things are of God, who hath reconciled us to Himself by Jesus Christ.\u201d Three things are stated here\u2014the worker, the means, and the blessing. The Worker is God. We are God-called, saved, justified, kept, used, filled, and sanctified. The means of our blessing is \u201cby,\u201d or more correctly, \u201cby means of Jesus Christ;\u201d and the blessing mentioned is, \u201cwe are reconciled to Himself.\u201d<\/p>\n
3. Divine Ordination. \u201cGiven to us the ministry of reconciliation… committed unto us the word of reconciliation.\u201d All believers have this ministry and word committed and given to them. The word is that \u201cGod was in Christ, reconciling the world unto Himself,\u201d and the end and aim of all ministry, to get men reconciled to God and each other.<\/p>\n
4. Divine Office. \u201cNow then we are ambassadors for Christ.\u201d The counterpart of Christ for us is, we are for Christ. As lights to shine for Him, as witnesses to testify for Him, and as an embassage to be on service for Him.<\/p>\n
5. Divine Opportunity. \u201cWe pray you in Christ\u2019s stead, be ye reconciled to God.\u201d As the priests of old acted for God and the people, so believers act for God and others. We pray to men for God, and we pray to God for men.<\/p>\n
6. Divine Offering. \u201cFor He hath made Him to be sin for us.\u201d He is a Message that has in it the melody of Heaven\u2019s music, and yet how deep its meaning and mystery! \u201cMade sin!\u201d Made what I was and did! Yes, and that\u2019s the reason He can make us other than what we are.<\/p>\n
7. Divine Obtainment. \u201cThat we might be made,\u201d or become, \u201cthe righteousness of God in Him!\u201d Being \u201cin Him,\u201d who is the Righteousness of God, we must be what He is, even as the ingrafted shoot is part of the tree.<\/p>\n
