143. Christ\u2019s Death Foretold and Explained<\/p>\n
1. Predicted He would die\u2014Isa_53:5.<\/p>\n
2. The manner of His death was foretold\u2014Psa_22:16.<\/p>\n
3. He said He would die\u2014Joh_10:18.<\/p>\n
4. He showed the love of God in dying\u2014Rom_5:8.<\/p>\n
5. He died for our sins\u2014Gal_1:4.<\/p>\n
6. He died to destroy the Devil\u2019s works\u20141Jn_3:8.<\/p>\n
7. He died that we might live to Him\u20142Co_5:14, 2Co_5:15.<\/p>\n
The determination of His will is seen in His \u201cflint\u201d face of purpose\u2014Isa_1:7, and in that He set His face to go to Jerusalem\u2014Luk_9:51, Luk_9:53, and He was not satisfied till He could say \u201caccomplished.\u201d The word rendered in Joh_19:30, \u201cIt is finished,\u201d would be better given \u201caccomplished.\u201d<\/p>\n
