1. The Omitting Redeemer. \u201cNot of angels, doth He take hold\u201d (Heb_2:16, R.V.).<\/p>\n
2. The Incarnate Saviour. \u201cHe taketh hold of the seed of Abraham\u201d (Heb_2:16, R.V.).<\/p>\n
3. The Living Deliverer. \u201cTook hold of him\u201d (Mat_14:31, R.V.).<\/p>\n
4. The Children\u2019s Friend. \u201cHe took a little child\u201d (Luk_9:47, R.V.).<\/p>\n
5. The Gracious Healer. \u201cHe took him and healed him\u201d (Luk_14:4).<\/p>\n
6. The Loving Leader. \u201cWhen I took them by the hand\u201d (Heb_8:9).<\/p>\n
7. The Sight Giver. \u201cHe took hold of the blind man by the hand\u201d (Mar_8:23, R.V.).<\/p>\n
The Greek word Epilambanomai occurs in each of the above Scriptures, and signifies \u201cto catch hold,\u201d \u201cto lay hold,\u201d and \u201cto take.\u201d It is rendered \u201ccaught\u201d in Act_16:19; \u201clay hold\u201d in 1Ti_6:12; and \u201ctake hold\u201d in Luk_20:20.<\/p>\n
