221. \u201cCold\u201d and Its Effects<\/p>\n
1. A Faithful God. \u201cCold and heat, and summer and winter shall not cease\u201d (Gen_8:22). The seasons are a faithful witness to His unceasing attention.<\/p>\n
2. A Faithless Sluggard. \u201cWho will not plow by reason of the cold\u201d (Pro_20:4). Conditions are meant to harden us and not to be excuses for laziness.<\/p>\n
3. A Faithful Saying. \u201cAs cold water is to a thirsty soul, so is good news from a far country\u201d (Pro_25:25). The good news that comes to us from the far country of God\u2019s grace is, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners.<\/p>\n
4. A Fearful Disciple. Peter warmed himself at the world\u2019s fire, because \u201cit was cold\u201d (Joh_18:18).<\/p>\n
5. A Fearless Apostle. Among the many things that Paul enumerates were \u201cfastings often and in cold\u201d (2Co_11:27).<\/p>\n
6. A Faulty Condition. \u201cThe love of many shall wax cold\u201d (Mat_24:12).<\/p>\n
7. A Timely Gift. \u201cA cup of cold water\u201d (Mat_10:42).<\/p>\n
