Comfort"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>223. Comfort<\/p>\n<p>The Hebrew word \u201cNachatn\u201d means to sigh with another, and thus to have fellow-feeling. There are seven strands in this cord of love.<\/p>\n<p>1. Sympathy. The sons and daughters of Jacob \u201crose up to comfort him,\u201d when it was thought Joseph was slain\u2014Gen_37:35.<\/p>\n<p>2. Help. Ruth said to Boaz: \u201cThou hast comforted me\u201d (Rth_2:13).<\/p>\n<p>3. Rest. Job said, \u201cMy bed shall comfort me\u201d (Job_7:13).<\/p>\n<p>4. Assurance. \u201cThe Lord hath comforted His people\u201d (Isa_49:13).<\/p>\n<p>5. Affection. \u201cAs one whom his mother comforteth\u201d (Isa_66:13).<\/p>\n<p>6. Supply. \u201cThou shalt comfort me on every side\u201d (Psa_71:21).<\/p>\n<p>7. Courage. \u201cI, even I, am He that comforteth you\u201d (Isa_51:12).<\/p>\n<p>By: DR. F. E.
