235. Confession<\/p>\n
Confession means more than profession. Confession means to stand with, to be in agreement with, the thing or person to whom reference is made.<\/p>\n
1. Confession of Sins. \u201cIf we confess our sins\u201d (1Jn_1:9).<\/p>\n
2. Confession of Christ. \u201cWhosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Christ is born of God\u201d (1Jn_4:15).<\/p>\n
3. Confession of Salvation. \u201cWith the mouth confession is made unto salvation\u201d (Rom_10:10).<\/p>\n
4. Confession of Jesus as Lord. \u201cIf thou shalt confess Jesus as Lord\u201d (Rom_10:9, R.V.).<\/p>\n
5. Confession to the Name. \u201cThe fruit of our lips which make confession to His Name\u201d (Heb_13:15).<\/p>\n
6. Confession of Separation. \u201cConfessed they were strangers and pilgrims\u201d (Heb_11:13).<\/p>\n
7. Christ\u2019s Own Confession. \u201cWitnessed the good confession\u201d (1Ti_6:13, R.V.).<\/p>\n
Ponder Timothy\u2019s example\u20141Ti_6:12; the Spirit\u2019s exhortation\u2014Heb_4:14, R.V.; and Christ\u2019s promise\u2014Luk_12:8.<\/p>\n
