266. \u201cDay of the Lord\u201d<\/p>\n
In Zec_14:4-21, we have seven times over what shall take place \u201cin that day\u201d\u2014that is, the day of Millennial glory, when the Lord shall tabernacle amongst us again.<\/p>\n
1. Arrival of the Lord with His saints, at the commencement of His tabernacling. \u201cHis feet shall stand in that day upon the Mount of Olives\u201d (Zec_14:4).<\/p>\n
2. Darkness leading to light will be the phenomenon \u201cat that day.\u201d The American Revised Version of Zec_14:6 and Zec_14:7 reads: \u201cIn that day there shall not be light, the bright ones shall withdraw themselves (the stars)… but at evening time it shall be light\u201d\u2014that is, as Von Orelli says: \u201cThe light of salvation will break its way through the night of judgment\u201d\u2014see Isa_30:26.<\/p>\n
3. Living waters blessing the earth. \u201cIt shall be in that day living waters will go out of Jerusalem\u201d (Isa_30:8), The river described in Ezekiel 47 will bring blessing in its onward and deepening flow.<\/p>\n
4. Christ\u2019s Universal Reign. \u201cThe Lord shall be King over all the earth in that day\u201d (Eze_47:9). All the nations will know the right and might of His reign.<\/p>\n
5. Christ\u2019s might Victorious over His enemies. The peoples that have warred against the Lord shall be brought under His judgment \u201cin that day\u201d (Eze_47:12-15, A.R.V.).<\/p>\n
6. \u201cHoliness unto the Lord\u201d shall characterise everything \u201cin that day\u201d (Eze_47:20). Everything shall be sacred to Him.<\/p>\n
7. Exclusion of the enemy. \u201cIn that day there shall no more be the Canaanite in the house of the Lord of Hosts\u201d (Eze_47:21). The trafficker for self and sin will be excluded.<\/p>\n
All this is preceded by Judah looking upon Him whom they have pierced, and in knowing Him who was smitten by the sword of Jehovah on their behalf\u2014Zec_12:10; Zec_13:7.<\/p>\n
