267. Death of Christ<\/p>\n
There are several ways in which the death of Christ is stated, each of which has its own touch of meaning.<\/p>\n
1. A Sinful Act. \u201cBeing put to death in the flesh\u201d (1Pe_3:18).<\/p>\n
2. A Saving Atonement. \u201cThrough His Blood\u201d (Eph_1:7).<\/p>\n
3. A Suffering Attachment. \u201cThe Cross of Christ… the marks of Jesus\u201d (Gal_6:14-17).<\/p>\n
4. A Slain Servant. \u201cHe came to give His life a ransom\u201d (Mat_20:28).<\/p>\n
5. A Soul Travailed. \u201cThe travail of His soul\u201d (Isa_53:11).<\/p>\n
6. A Sacrifice Given. \u201cChrist our Passover is sacrificed for us\u201d (1Co_5:7).<\/p>\n
7. A Submerged Saviour. \u201cI have a baptism to be baptised with\u201d (Luk_12:50).<\/p>\n
