270. Definite Details of Prophecy<\/p>\n
In 2Th_2:1-12 R.V.<\/p>\n
1. The Definite Hope of the Believer. \u201cThe Coming of the Lord Jesus and our gathering together unto Him.\u201d This is the one event for which the Church is waiting.<\/p>\n
2. The Definite Period of the Lord\u2019s Rule. \u201cThe Day of the Lord.\u201d That is the 1000 years of Christ\u2019s reign on the earth.<\/p>\n
3. The Definite Apostasy Foretold. \u201cThe falling away.\u201d Not a falling away, but \u201cthe\u201d falling away, that is, the open denial of the Father and the Son.<\/p>\n
4. The Definite Character of the Anti-Christ. \u201cThe man of sin,\u201d Not a system, but a \u2018\u2018man.\u201d<\/p>\n
5. The Definite Title given to Anti-Christ. \u201cThe Son of Perdition.\u201d Not one who goes into perdition, but who comes out of it.<\/p>\n
6. The Definite Place in which he will Sit. \u201cThe Temple of God.\u201d Not a spiritual edifice, but a temple in Jerusalem.<\/p>\n
7. The Definite Mystery now at Work. \u201cThe mystery of lawlessness.\u201d The spirit of self-will opposing God\u2019s will.<\/p>\n
8. The Definite Hinderer Removed. \u201cUntil it be taken out of the midst.\u201d When the hindering power is taken away, the system of lawlessness will develop into the lawless one.<\/p>\n
9. The Definite Revelation of the Anti-Christ. \u201cThen shall that wicked one be revealed\u201d (\u201cthe lawless one,\u201d R.V.). The word \u201crevealed\u201d means to uncover, so that which had been concealed shall be seen.<\/p>\n
10. The Definite Presence of Christ. \u201cWhom the Lord shall consume.\u201d The nailed hand of Calvary will effectually deal with the mailed might of satanic opposition.<\/p>\n
11. The Definite Means of Anti-Christ\u2019s Overthrow. \u201cThe Spirit of His mouth.\u201d This, like Rev_19:15, and Heb_4:12, is a symbolic expression to denote the authority and power of His commanding utterance.<\/p>\n
12. The Definite Manifestation of Christ\u2019s Coming. \u201cShall destroy with the brightness of His Coming.\u201d The flashing out of Christ\u2019s inherent glory will blind and blast the Anti-Christ.<\/p>\n
13. The Definite Worker behind the Anti-Christ. \u201cWhose coming is after the working of Satan.\u201d The moving and moulding power behind the man of sin is the god of this world.<\/p>\n
14. The Definite Cause of the People Being Deceived. \u201cBecause they received not the love of the truth.\u201d The truth is that which makes true, and to love it means to be made like it. Not to love the truth is to become a lie and lying.<\/p>\n
15. The Definite Lie Believed. \u201cThat they should believe the lie,\u201d that is, the lie avowed that he is Christ.<\/p>\n
16. The Definite Unbelief Specified. \u201cBelieved not the truth.\u201d Unbelief deforms the heart and life and makes them decrepit and dead.<\/p>\n
