The Shipwreck Story of Acts 28<\/p>\n
The escape of Paul and those who were with him from death by drowning is an apt illustration of that greater escape which those who believe in Christ have experienced. The word translated \u201cescaped\u201d is rendered \u201csaved\u201d in 1Pe_3:20, \u201csafe\u201d in Act_23:24, \u201csave\u201d in Act_27:43, \u201cheal\u201d in Luk_7:3, and \u201cmade perfectly whole\u201d in Mat_14:36.<\/p>\n
The above Scriptures may be taken as illustrations of what the believer escapes from as he comes in contact with Christ.<\/p>\n
1. In the ark of Christ\u2019s all-sufficient atonement we escape from the deluge of condemnation\u2014Joh_5:24.<\/p>\n
2. In the protection of Christ\u2019s presence we escape from defeat in the hour of temptation\u20141Co_10:13.<\/p>\n
3. In the keeping of Christ\u2019s power we escape being taken by the enemy of our souls\u2014Joh_10:28.<\/p>\n
4. In the healing touch of Christ\u2019s living grace we escape from the disease of iniquity\u2014Psa_103:3.<\/p>\n
5. Through the grasp of faith we escape from partial health of soul by being \u201cmade perfectly whole\u201d\u2014Tit_2:14.<\/p>\n
