316. Evidences of Abiding in Christ<\/p>\n
1. Not Practicing Sin. \u201cWhosoever abideth in Him sinneth not\u201d (1Jn_3:6).<\/p>\n
2. Keeping God\u2019s Commandments. \u201cHe that keepeth His commandments abideth in Him\u201d (1Jn_3:24, R.V.).<\/p>\n
3. Bearing Fruit. \u201cHe that abideth in Me, and I in him, the same beareth much fruit\u201d (Joh_15:5, R.V.).<\/p>\n
4. Loving Each Other. \u201cHe that loveth his brother abideth in the light.\u201d \u201cHereby we know we abide in Him\u201d (1Jn_2:10; 1Jn_4:13, R.V.).<\/p>\n
5. Walking as Christ Walked. \u201cHe that saith he abideth in Him ought himself also so to walk, even as He walked\u201d (1Jn_2:6).<\/p>\n
6. Continuing in Christ\u2019s Word. \u201cIf ye abide in My Word, then are ye truly My disciples\u201d (Joh_8:31, R.V.).<\/p>\n
7. Faithfulness to God\u2019s Truth. \u201cIf that which ye heard from the beginning abide, ye also shall abide in the Son, and in the Father\u201d (1Jn_2:24, R.V.). \u201cWhosoever goeth onward (margin, \u201ctaketh the lead\u201d) and abideth not in the teaching of Christ, hath not God: he that abideth in the teaching the same hath both the Father and the Son\u201d (2Jn_1:9, R.V.).<\/p>\n
