331. Faith and the Faith<\/p>\n
Faith\u2019s basis is the Word of God\u2014Rom_10:17. There is an intimate relationship between faith and the faith. Faith is the act of believing\u2014Joh_1:12, and the faith is the truth believed.<\/p>\n
1. The faith is the food which makes faith strong\u2014Act_14:22.<\/p>\n
2. The faith is the weapon which faith wields\u20141Ti_6:12, R.V.<\/p>\n
3. The faith is the rule by which faith squares\u2014Act_26:18.<\/p>\n
4. The faith is the anchor which faith fastens to its cable\u2014Act_16:5.<\/p>\n
5. The faith is the cheque-book which faith signs\u2014Rom_5:1. Faith goes up the stairs which Love has built, and looks out of the window which Hope has opened.<\/p>\n
\u201cFaith is the subtle chain<\/p>\n
That binds us to the Infinite: the voice<\/p>\n
Of a deep life within.\u201d<\/p>\n
Faith says,<\/p>\n
\u201cI stand in God\u2019s will\u201d like Stephen\u2014Act_6:5.<\/p>\n
\u201cI rest in God\u2019s bosom\u201d like Timothy\u20142Ti_1:5.<\/p>\n
\u201cI am glad in His joy\u201d as Paul says\u2014Rom_5:1.<\/p>\n
\u201cI am inspired by His love\u201d like the Ephesians\u2014Eph_1:15.<\/p>\n
\u201cI am moulded by His truth\u201d like Abraham\u2014Rom_4:20.<\/p>\n
\u201cI am strengthened by His grace\u201d as the Apostle enjoins\u20141Co_2:5.<\/p>\n
\u201cI glory in His Christ\u201d as Paul illustrates\u2014Php_3:9.<\/p>\n
\u201cI am satisfied with Himself\u201d as Christ dwells in the heart\u2014Eph_3:17.<\/p>\n
