333. Faith\u2019s Answer\u2014\u201dYes\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cUpon God\u2019s will I lay me down.<\/p>\n
As child upon its mother\u2019s breast;<\/p>\n
No silken couch or softest bed<\/p>\n
Could ever give me such deep rest.<\/p>\n
Thy wonderful, grand will, my God,<\/p>\n
With triumph now I make it mine,<\/p>\n
And faith shall cry a joyous \u2018Yes,\u2019<\/p>\n
To every dear command of Thine.\u201d<\/p>\n
Faith may be defined as saying \u201cYes\u201d to the Saviour. There are several people who said \u201cYes\u201d to the Lord, and they got what they wanted.<\/p>\n
1. The Blind Man gave the \u201cYes\u201d of faith to Christ\u2019s ability (Mat_9:28).<\/p>\n
2. The Disciples said \u201cYes, Lord,\u201d to Christ\u2019s question of teaching (Mat_13:51).<\/p>\n
3. The Syrophenician Woman replied \u201cYes, Lord,\u201d to His designation of \u201cdog\u201d (Mat_15:27).<\/p>\n
4. Martha said \u201cYes, Lord,\u201d to His word (Joh_11:27).<\/p>\n
5. Peter said \u201cYes, Lord,\u201d to His question about love (Joh_21:15-16).<\/p>\n
6. John said, \u201cYes, Lord Jesus, come,\u201d to His announcement of His return (Rev_22:20).<\/p>\n
7. Christ is the Great Example, for He said \u201cYes, Father,\u201d to His will (Mat_11:26).<\/p>\n
Obedience is the \u201cYes\u201d of faith to God\u2019s Word. When we say \u201cYes\u201d in fulfilling the conditions of the Lord\u2019s promises, He says \u201cYes\u201d to the prayer of our requests.<\/p>\n
