As applied to Christ\u2019s death, the main thought is, the provision God has made in His death for the salvation of men. There are other places where huper occurs. Six times Christ uses this word in relation to His death on our behalf\u2014<\/p>\n<p>1. His Body. \u201cThis is My body which is given for you\u201d (Luk_22:19).<\/p>\n<p>2. His Blood. \u201cMy Blood which is shed for you\u201d (Luk_22:20).<\/p>\n<p>3. His Intention. \u201cMy flesh which I give for the life of the world\u201d (Joh_6:51).<\/p>\n<p>4. His Gift. \u201cThe Good Shepherd giveth His life for the sheep\u201d (Joh_10:11).<\/p>\n<p>5. His Act. \u201cI lay down My life for the sheep\u201d (Joh_10:15).<\/p>\n<p>6.
