422. Healing of the Body<\/p>\n
The Lord gave His disciples power and authority over all demons and to cure diseases. \u201cPower\u201d means ability to do a thing; \u201cauthority\u201d speaks of the right to do things; and the fact that the disciples went \u201chealing everywhere\u201d shows that they accomplished what the Lord intended, namely, to \u201ccure\u201d diseases. This raises an interesting question, which is, If the servants of Christ were acting under His authority and power, would they not have the same ability to heal disease? There are four reasons why we may expect the Lord to heal.<\/p>\n
1. Because of what He is\u2014Jehovah Ropheca\u2014Exo_15:26.<\/p>\n
2. Because of what Christ has done on the Cross\u2014Isa_53:3, Isa_53:4.<\/p>\n
3. Because of what He promises\u2014Jas_5:15.<\/p>\n
4. Because of what the Holy Spirit can do\u2014Rom_8:11.<\/p>\n
