\u201cWhy Art Thou Cast Down O My Soul\u201d Psa_42:5-6<\/p>\n
Dr. H. Montgomery, of Belfast, once saw nine boys arm in arm walking along a street. They had recently been brought to Christ, and they were singing this chorus:<\/p>\n
\u201cDown in the dumps I\u2019ll never go,<\/p>\n
That\u2019s where the Devil keeps me low.\u201d<\/p>\n
When God\u2019s servants get into the dumps, we always find God points the way to deliverance.<\/p>\n
1. When Elijah got under the juniper tree the angel told him to \u201carise and eat\u201d (1Ki_19:5).<\/p>\n
2. When Paul was threatened with shipwreck, the Lord told him to be of \u201cgood cheer\u201d (Act_27:25).<\/p>\n
3. When John was banished to the Island of Patmos, the Lord revealed Himself to him\u2014Rev_1:11.<\/p>\n
4. When Jonah was in the sea-monster, the Lord gave him deliverance as soon as he said \u201csalvation is of the Lord\u201d (Jon_2:9).<\/p>\n
5. When Joshua was on his face through defeat, Jehovah said unto him, \u201cGet thee up\u201d (Jos_7:10).<\/p>\n
6. When Samson was grinding in the prison, Jehovah caused his \u201chair to grow again\u201d (Jdg_16:22).<\/p>\n
7. When Israel was \u201cgroaning\u201d in Egypt. Jehovah made them glad by bringing them out of it\u2014Exo_6:5<\/p>\n
