488. Judgment<\/p>\n
Jeremiah 25<\/p>\n
The language in the chapter is most emphatic in its statements. Sixteen times the word \u201cwill\u201d is found in the Revised Reading, as declaring what God will certainly do. In Jer_25:6, by way of promise, \u201cI will do you no hurt\u201d; and fifteen times the words \u201cI will\u201d and \u201cHe will,\u201d as declaring God\u2019s acts of judgment.<\/p>\n
1. The Messenger of Judgment. \u201cI will send\u201d (Jer_25:9).<\/p>\n
2. The Scope of Judgment. \u201cI will destroy\u201d (Jer_25:9).<\/p>\n
3. The Misery of Judgment. \u201cI will take from them the voice of mirth\u201d (Jer_25:10).<\/p>\n
4. The. Stroke of Judgment. \u201cI will punish\u201d (Jer_25:12).<\/p>\n
5. The Desolation of Judgment. \u201cI will make it desolate\u201d (Jer_25:12).<\/p>\n
6. The Certainty of Judgment. \u201cI will bring to pass all My words which I have pronounced\u201d (Jer_25:13).<\/p>\n
7. The Righteousness of Judgment. \u201cI will recompense them according to their deeds\u201d (Jer_25:14, R.V.).<\/p>\n
8. The Effect of Judgment. \u201cBe mad because of the sword that I will send among them\u201d (Jer_25:16).<\/p>\n
9. The Crushing of Judgment. \u201cDrink ye, and be drunken, and spue, and fall, and rise no more, because of the sword which I will send\u201d (Jer_25:27).<\/p>\n
10. The Awfulness of Judgment. \u201cHe will mightily roar\u201d (Jer_25:30, R.V.).<\/p>\n
11. The Place of Judgment. \u201cJehovah will roar from on high\u201d (Jer_25:30, R.V.).<\/p>\n
12. The Shout of Judgment. \u201cHe will give a shout\u201d (Jer_25:30, R.V.).<\/p>\n
13. The Universality of Judgment. \u201cHe will plead with all flesh\u201d (Jer_25:31).<\/p>\n
