The Jubilee is a type of the \u201cacceptable year\u201d of the Gospel (Luk_4:19). What did the Jubilee mean?<\/p>\n
1. Recognition of the Lord\u2019s Claim. \u201cThe land is Mine\u201d (Lev_25:23). \u201cThe Lord\u2019s release\u201d (Deu_15:1-4).<\/p>\n
2. Remember the Jubilee was Based on Atonement\u2014Lev_25:9. Christ\u2019s substitutionary death is the basis of all blessing.<\/p>\n
3. Release from Bondage. \u201cProclaim liberty throughout all the land\u201d (Lev_25:10).<\/p>\n
4. Rest. \u201cA year of rest unto the land.\u201d \u201cA Sabbath for the Lord\u201d (Lev_25:4-5).<\/p>\n
5. Restoration. \u201cReturn every man unto his possession\u201d (Lev_25:10, Lev_25:13, Lev_25:28).<\/p>\n
6. Rejoicing. The meaning of the word \u201cJubilee\u201d is joy\u2014Psa_89:15-18.<\/p>\n
7. Reunion. \u201cYe shall return every man unto his family\u201d (Lev_25:10).<\/p>\n
