Leaving Things"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>503. Leaving Things<\/p>\n<p>1. Fleeing from Sin. \u201cLeft his garment in her hand\u201d (Gen_39:12, Gen_39:15). Doing the right thing sometimes brings us an ill consequence.<\/p>\n<p>2. Following the Lord. \u201cLeft their nets and followed Him\u201d (Mat_4:20). When the choice is between the nets of a lawful business and a call to follow the Lord, He must have the preference.<\/p>\n<p>3. First be Reconciled. \u201cLeave thy gift&#8230; first be reconciled\u201d (Mat_5:23-24). Reconciliation to an offended brother is pre-requisite to communion with the Lord.<\/p>\n<p>4. Fascinated by Christ. \u201cShe left her water pot\u201d (Joh_4:28). She forgot what she brought to the well and her quest in coming, because she found something better.<\/p>\n<p>5. Following On. \u201cLeaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, go on to perfection\u201d (Heb_6:1). Stagnation is the bane of a consecrated life. We shall go back if we do not \u201cgo on.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>6. Found Wanting. Elisha \u201cleft the oxen,\u201d but he wanted to say \u201cgood-bye\u201d to those at home. Elijah would not brook delay.
