533. Lord\u2019s Friendship<\/p>\n
1. A Loving Friend. \u201cA Friend loveth at all times\u201d (Pro_17:17). The times cannot alter His constancy, change His affection, alienate His sympathy, nor check His love.<\/p>\n
2. A Lasting Friend. \u201cA Friend that sticketh closer than a brother\u201d (Pro_18:24). The word \u201csticketh\u201d means to adhere to, to cleave closely. He will not let us go, He holds us fast, and always.<\/p>\n
3. A Living Friend. \u201cAs iron sharpeneth iron, so doth the countenance of a man his friend\u201d (Pro_27:17). \u201cShar-peneth\u201d signifies to make sharp, acute, to give an edge. His life will make us live and laugh.<\/p>\n
4. A Lifting Friend. \u201cA Friend of publicans and sinners\u201d (Mat_11:19). He is no friend of sin, but He loves to lift the sinner from the pit of sin, and fit him for the palace of His love.<\/p>\n
5. A Lavish Friend. \u201cGavest it to the seed of Abraham, Thy friend for ever?\u201d (2Ch_20:7). Jehovah loves to give the best He has to His own. There is no stint with Him. He gives like God\u2014Isa_41:8.<\/p>\n
6. A Listening Friend. \u201cThe Lord spake unto Moses face to face, as a man speaketh unto his friend\u201d (Exo_33:11).<\/p>\n
7. A Lovely Friend. \u201cMy Beloved is white and ruddy… this is my Friend\u201d (Son_5:1-16).<\/p>\n
