548. Manna<\/p>\n
The manna, as we know from Christ\u2019s teaching, is a type of Himself as the Bread from Heaven\u2014Joh_6:32, Joh_6:33. The typical teaching of the manna may be gathered from the following.<\/p>\n
1. It was round in appearance\u2014Exo_16:14; suggestive of Christ, who is the Eternal One, without beginning and without end\u2014Rev_1:8.<\/p>\n
2. It was small in size\u2014Exo_16:14; typical of Christ, who became a Babe in Bethlehem, and was a Man among men\u2014Luk_2:11-12, Luk_2:16.<\/p>\n
3. It was white in colour\u2014Exo_16:31; which indicates Christ as the Righteous One\u2014Heb_7:26.<\/p>\n
4. It was sweet to the taste, it is said to be like wafers made with honey\u2014Exo_16:31; typical of Christ as the precious One, whose Word is often compared to honey\u2014Psa_19:10.<\/p>\n
5. It is compared to Coriander seed, which was used as a condiment\u2014Exo_16:31; and may be taken as typical of Christ, who will season all our life with His presence and grace\u2014Col_3:15-16; Col_4:6.<\/p>\n
6. It is further described as having the taste of sweet oil\u2014Num_11:8; and is typical of Christ, who is ever fresh in the livingness of His love and truth\u2014Heb_13:8.<\/p>\n
7. It is further identified with the dew which fell upon the ground\u2014Num_11:9; and may be taken to represent the fact that Christ can only be known and appreciated through the ministry of the Holy Spirit\u2014Eph_3:16, Eph_3:17.<\/p>\n
