Not to obey the Lord is the greatest calamity which can come to anyone. Disobedience to Him is\u2014<\/p>\n
1. Cause of Premature Death, as seen in the children of Israel being \u201cconsumed\u201d in the wilderness\u2014Jos_5:6.<\/p>\n
2. Cause of Defeat, and being dominated by our enemies, and the cause of discomfort to ourselves\u2014Jdg_2:2.<\/p>\n
3. Cause of Loss, impoverishment, and oppression, as is illustrated in Israel when Midian prevailed against them\u2014Jdg_6:10.<\/p>\n
4. Cause of Downfall, as is seen in King Saul and his disobedience regarding Amalek\u20141Sa_15:20-23.<\/p>\n
5. Cause of Dishonour, as is unfolded in the disobedience of the man of God out of Judah\u20141Ki_13:1-32.<\/p>\n
6. Cause of Bondage, as is manifest in Israel\u2019s being carried away into Assyria\u20142Ki_18:11-12; and of Judah into Babylon\u2014Dan_9:10-14.<\/p>\n
