Their Past History. \u201cWhich were not a people\u201d (1Pe_2:10). To remember what we were, is to make us appreciate what we are.<\/p>\n<p>2. Their Present Position. \u201cBut are now the people of God\u201d (1Pe_2:10). Since He owns us, we ought to own ourselves.<\/p>\n<p>3. Their Practical Conduct. The result of being separate from things that contaminate us is, God says, \u201cI will be their God, and they shall be My people\u201d (2Co_6:16).<\/p>\n<p>4. Their Peculiar Designation. He calls them \u201ca peculiar people,\u201d or, \u201ca people for His own possession\u201d (Tit_2:14; 1Pe_2:9). We are His property, and therefore peculiar in being for Himself.<\/p>\n<p>5. Their Propitiating Atonement. Christ has made an atonement for the sins of the people\u2014Heb_2:17. That atonement is full, eternal, and God-glorifying.<\/p>\n<p>6. Their Promised Rest. \u201cThere remaineth a rest for the people of God\u201d (Heb_4:9). The outlook for God\u2019s people is blessed and bright.<\/p>\n<p>7. Their Eternal Bliss. \u201cThey shall be His people,\u201d is the word of God\u2019s promise. Those chosen in time will be well looked after in eternity.<\/p>\n<p>By: DR. F. E.
