642. \u201cPleasure of Jehovah\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cPleasure of the Lord shall prosper in His hand.\u201d The word \u201cpleasure,\u201d in Isa_53:10, speaks of an inward pleasure and delight. It is rendered \u201cpurpose\u201d in Ecc_3:1, \u201cdelight\u201d in Psa_1:3, \u201cdesire\u201d in 1Ki_10:13, \u201cwillingly\u201d in Pro_31:13, \u201cpleasant\u201d in Isa_54:12, and \u201cacceptable\u201d in Ecc_12:10. Each of these words may be used to express the outlook of God, for\u2014<\/p>\n
1. He will fulfil the \u201cpurpose\u201d of His grace to glorify those whom He has called\u2014Rom_8:30.<\/p>\n
2. He will \u201cdelight\u201d to \u201crejoice\u201d over a redeemed Israel \u201cwith joy\u201d (Zep_3:17).<\/p>\n
3. His \u201cdesire\u201d is expressed in the loving words of, \u201cI will betroth thee to Me… in loving kindness and faithfulness, and thou shalt know Me as Jehovah\u201d (Hos_2:19-20).<\/p>\n
4. His willingness to bless is stated in the loving words, \u201cI will rejoice over them to do them good\u201d (Jer_32:41).<\/p>\n
5. There is a time coming when \u201cJudah and Jerusalem\u201d will \u201cbe pleasant unto Jehovah,\u201d \u201cas in former years\u201d (Mal_3:4).<\/p>\n
