728. Secret of Victory Over the World<\/p>\n
1. Keep from it\u2014Jas_1:27. The place of separation is the place of power. To \u201ckeep unspotted\u201d means not to be stained, therefore we must not be near the world, but keep from the range of its mud-slinging.<\/p>\n
2. Take Christ\u2019s victory over it. His Word is, \u201cI have overcome the world,\u201d therefore He bids us \u201cBe of good cheer\u201d (Joh_16:33). See the three references to Christ and \u201cthis world\u201d in John\u2019s Gospel\u2014Joh_12:31; Joh_14:30; Joh_16:11.<\/p>\n
3. Believe you have got the victory over it. \u201cThis is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith\u201d (1Jn_5:4-5); and the reasons are, because we have been begotten of God, and because we believe in the Son of God.<\/p>\n
4. Recognise the Lord\u2019s indwelling presence. \u201cYe… have overcome them, because greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world\u201d (1Jn_4:4). The Lord within keeps the world without.<\/p>\n
5. Remember, the world is an enemy, and the injunction is not to have fellowship with it\u2014Jas_4:4; for if we do, we side with an enemy and make ourselves antagonistic to God.<\/p>\n
6. The uncompromising and specific command of the Lord is, \u201cLove not the world\u201d (1Jn_2:15). This will be easy if we dwell in the love of God.<\/p>\n
7. Call to mind the prayer of Christ about the world, and remember you are taken \u201cout of it,\u201d sent into it, not of it, and He prays you may be kept from it\u2014Joh_17:6-7, Joh_17:14, Joh_17:15.<\/p>\n
