821. \u201cThe Church of the Future\u201d<\/p>\n
According to the teaching of the Holy Spirit, the professing Church (that is, Christendom, not the spiritual body of Christ) will be a degenerate Church.<\/p>\n
1. She will mix with the meal of God\u2019s Word the leaven of Rationalism\u2014Mat_16:6, as described by Christ in the parable of the leaven\u2014Mat_13:33.<\/p>\n
2. She will admit into her community the bad company of the evil one\u2014Mat_13:4, Mat_13:19, Mat_13:32.<\/p>\n
3. She will depart from the faith and simplicity of the Gospel\u20141Ti_4:1.<\/p>\n
4. She will scoff at the truth of the Lord\u2019s return\u20142Pe_3:2-4.<\/p>\n
5. She will have a form of godliness, and know nothing of its power\u20142Ti_3:5.<\/p>\n
6. She will be nauseous to the Lord, because of her lukewarm condition\u2014Rev_3:15-17.<\/p>\n
7. She will be supported by the world, as depicted by the woman sitting on the scarlet beast\u2014Rev_17:3; and her end will be the lake of fire\u2014Rev_18:8.<\/p>\n
