825. The Good Samaritan<\/p>\n
Illustrated in Christ\u2019s Friendship\u2014Luk_10:33-35<\/p>\n
If the parable of the Good Samaritan is recalled, there will be found in Christ all the traits of real friendship.<\/p>\n
1. The feet of friendship. \u201cHe came where he was.\u201d<\/p>\n
2. The eyes of friendship. \u201cHe saw him.\u201d He did not look away, He saw his need and met it.<\/p>\n
3. The heart of friendship. \u201cHe had compassion on him.\u201d The heart of his love moved the hand of His help.<\/p>\n
4. The service of friendship. \u201cHe bound up his wounds.\u201d etc. He binds up the wounds which sin has made, and pours into the heart the wine of His joy and the oil of His grace.<\/p>\n
5. The selflessness of friendship. \u201cHe put him on his own beast.\u201d Christ takes our place in death, and gives us His place in glory.<\/p>\n
6. The care of friendship. \u201cTook care of him.\u201d<\/p>\n
7. The spending of friendship. \u201cI will repay thee.\u201d He thinks, and cares, and provides. Cost proves His care.<\/p>\n
