837. The New Creation<\/p>\n
2Co_5:17, Margin<\/p>\n
There are several new things named in the \u201cNew Testament\u201d of God\u2019s grace\u2014Luk_22:20.<\/p>\n
1. The New Testament brings the \u201cnew teaching\u201d of the person and work of Christ\u2014Mar_1:27, R.V.; Act_17:19, R.V.<\/p>\n
2. Who infuses in the believer the Divine life of a \u201cnew creation\u201d (2Co_5:17, margin).<\/p>\n
3. Which makes all believers to occupy the common position in Christ of the \u201cone new man\u201d of the Church\u2014Eph_2:15.<\/p>\n
4. Which calls all its members to \u201cwalk in the newness of the life\u201d of the Spirit (Rom_6:4).<\/p>\n
5. Which again obligates each member to \u201cserve in newness of spirit,\u201d and not after the letter of the law of Moses\u2014Rom_7:6.<\/p>\n
6. Which also commands us to keep the eleventh and \u201cnew commandment\u201d of loving each other as Christ has loved us (Joh_13:34).<\/p>\n
7. Which in addition privileges us to put on \u201cthe new man\u201d of Christly consecration (Eph_4:24).<\/p>\n
8. While the \u201cnew tongue\u201d of the Spirit\u2019s endowment (Mar_16:17).<\/p>\n
9. Makes us sing the \u201cnew song\u201d of redemption (Rev_5:9).<\/p>\n
10. And all these \u201cnew things\u201d (2Co_5:17) beget in our hearts the ambition to have the \u201cnew stone\u201d of the overcomer\u2019s reward (Rev_2:17).<\/p>\n
11. And make us long for the \u201cNew Jerusalem\u201d (Rev_21:2), in the \u201cnew Heavens and the new earth\u201d (Rev_21:1).<\/p>\n
