\u201cA Threefold Cord Is Not Quickly Broken\u201d (Ecc_4:12)<\/p>\n
A friend visiting a Manchester cotton merchant\u2019s office says: \u201cI noticed an instrument to test the strength of threads, yarn, etc. I asked my friend the merchant if he would undo a length of three-ply yarn. He did so. He tested the breaking point of the single, and the double, and finally the three-ply, and we found, as I surmised, that the three-ply was far more than three times the strength of a single strand.\u201d God\u2019s truths are all threefold.<\/p>\n
1. A Threefold Salvation. Saved from the penalty of sin by grace\u2014Eph_2:8; saved in the life of Christ by power\u2014Rom_5:10; and saved from the presence of sin by Christ\u2019s might\u2014Php_3:20-21.<\/p>\n
2. A Threefold Life. Eternal life a gift\u2014Rom_6:23; an experience\u20141Ti_6:19; and a manifestation\u2014Col_3:4.<\/p>\n
3. A Threefold Justification. Justified by God as to cause\u2014Rom_8:33; justified by faith as to instrument\u2014Rom_5:1; and justified by works as to proof\u2014Jas_2:21.<\/p>\n
4. A Threefold Choice. Chosen by God\u2014Eph_1:4; chosen in Christ\u2014Joh_15:16; and proving our election by adding to our faith\u20142Pe_1:10.<\/p>\n
