883. \u201cToday\u201d<\/p>\n
The presentness of God\u2019s things need to be kept in mind.<\/p>\n
1. Christ. \u201cJesus Christ the same yesterday, today, and for ever\u201d (Heb_13:8). He is the same without any sameness. In the Cross of His passion, in the communion of His presence, and in the for ever of His glory.<\/p>\n
2. Conversion. \u201cToday I must abide at thy house.\u201d \u201cThis day is salvation come\u201d (Luk_19:5, Luk_19:9). Christ\u2019s presence is salvation and power.<\/p>\n
3. Consecration. \u201cConsecrate yourselves today to the Lord\u201d (Exo_32:29). Separation to the Lord and dedication to Him are the soul of consecration.<\/p>\n
4. Concentration. \u201cToday if ye will hear His voice\u201d (Psa_95:7; Heb_3:7, Heb_3:13, Heb_3:15; Heb_4:7). To hear His voice is to obey His Word.<\/p>\n
5. Command. \u201cMy son, go work today in my vineyard\u201d (Mat_21:28). There is work to do, we are commanded to do it, and to do it today.<\/p>\n
6. Communication. \u201cHearken unto the cry and to the prayer, which Thy servant prayeth before Thee today\u201d (1Ki_8:28). To communicate to the Lord in prayer we need to keep the communicating way open.<\/p>\n
7. Communion. \u201cToday thou shalt be with Me in Paradise\u201d (Luk_23:43). To be with Christ is Heaven.<\/p>\n
