1. A Striking Simile. \u201cThe wicked are like the troubled sea\u201d (Isa_57:20). Sin is the rest-destroyer and the soul-annoyer.<\/p>\n
2. An Agonised Saviour. \u201cNow is My soul troubled\u201d (Joh_12:27). The hour of His woe was caused by the guilt of our wickedness.<\/p>\n
3. A Defeated Company. \u201cWhy hast thou troubled us?\u201d (Jos_7:25). An Achan in the midst will cause defeat in the war.<\/p>\n
4. A Distressed Saint. \u201cThou didst hide Thy face, and I was troubled\u201d (Psa_30:7). The Lord\u2019s hidings are for the believer\u2019s testings.<\/p>\n
5. A Cumbered Servant. \u201cMartha… thou art careful and troubled about many things\u201d (Luk_10:41). To serve the Lord is good, but to be cumbered with serving is bad.<\/p>\n
6. A Convicted Brotherhood. \u201cThey were troubled at his presence\u201d (Gen_45:3). A bad conscience will prick the heart to its possessor\u2019s confusion.<\/p>\n
7. A Routed Foe. \u201cTroubled the host of the Egyptians\u201d (Exo_14:24). \u201cThe troublers of God\u2019s people are sure to be troubled by the Lord\u201d (2Th_1:7).<\/p>\n
