923. \u201cVerily, Verily, I Say Unto You\u201d<\/p>\n
Christ was continually using this pregnant sentence. Take seven of the sayings as found in John\u2019s Gospel.<\/p>\n
1. The Necessity of the New Birth. \u201cVerily, verily, I say unto you, Except a man be born from above (margin), he cannot enter the Kingdom of God\u201d (Joh_3:3, Joh_3:5).<\/p>\n
2. Eternal Life. \u201cVerily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth My Word and believeth on Him that sent Me, hath everlasting life\u201d (Joh_5:24).<\/p>\n
3. Eternal Existence. \u201cVerily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was I am\u201d (Joh_8:58).<\/p>\n
4. The Entrance of Blessing. \u201cVerily, verily, I say unto you, I am the Door of the sheep\u201d (Joh_10:7).<\/p>\n
5. Dying to Live. \u201cVerily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die,\u201d etc. (Joh_12:24).<\/p>\n
6. Added Works. \u201cVerily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth Me, the works I do shall he do, and greater\u201d (Joh_14:12).<\/p>\n
7. Answered Prayer. \u201cVerily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in My Name, that will I do\u201d (Joh_16:23).<\/p>\n
