976. \u201cWings\u201d of the Lord<\/p>\n
The wings of the Lord proclaim the tenderness of His care, the constancy of His service, the strength of His might, and protectiveness of His presence. The wings of the Lord are\u2014<\/p>\n
1. Saving in their Spread. \u201cI spread My skirt over thee\u201d (Eze_16:8), said the Lord in saving Israel. (The word \u201cskirt\u201d is same as \u201cwings\u201d in other places.)<\/p>\n
2. Restful in their Repose. \u201cUnder whose wings thou art come to trust\u201d (Rth_2:12). (The word \u201cwings\u201d same as \u201cskirt\u201d in Rth_3:9).<\/p>\n
3. Supporting in their Strength. \u201cI bare you on eagle\u2019s wings\u201d (Exo_19:4; Deu_32:11-12).<\/p>\n
4. Safe in their Keeping. \u201cHide me under the shadow of Thy wings\u201d (Psa_17:8).<\/p>\n
5. Precious in their Worth. \u201cHow precious (margin) is Thy lovingkindness, O God; therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of Thy wings\u201d (Psa_36:7).<\/p>\n
6. Protective in their Refuge. \u201cIn the shadow of Thy wings will I make my refuge\u201d (Psa_57:1).<\/p>\n
7. Sheltering in their Cover. \u201cI will trust in the covert of Thy wings\u201d (Psa_61:4).<\/p>\n
8. Gladdening in their Comfort. \u201cBecause Thou hast been my help, therefore in the shadow of Thy wings will I rejoice\u201d (Psa_63:7).<\/p>\n
9. Almighty in their Sufficiency. \u201cHe shall cover thee with His feathers (the Almighty, Psa_63:1), and under His wings shalt thou trust\u201d (Psa_91:4).<\/p>\n
10. Extensive in their Spread. The words \u201cends\u201d in Job_37:3, and \u201cuttermost part\u201d in Isa_24:16 are the same as rendered \u201cwings\u201d in the other Scriptures.<\/p>\n
11. Healing in their Influence. \u201cHealing in His wings\u201d (Mal_4:2).<\/p>\n
