997. \u201cYour\u201d Versus \u201cOurs\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cIs that your bun, brother?\u201d asked one Christian of another, as they sat at the dinner table. The friend who was questioned took the knife and cut the bun in two, and replied, \u201cTake away the \u2018y,\u2019 brother,\u201d as he handed the questioner half of the bun. What a difference it would make if believers would only see that oneness with each other in their oneness with Christ. Let us look at a few of the \u201cour\u2019s\u201d in 2 Corinthians 1, as illustrating the mutual feeling we should have with each other.<\/p>\n
1. Mutual Relationship. \u201cOur Father\u201d (2Co_1:2). Believers in Christ have a common ground of relationship to the Lord, and He holds a common relationship to us.<\/p>\n
2. Mutual Responsibility. \u201cOur Lord Jesus Christ\u201d (2Co_1:3). Purchased by His Blood, we are not our own. He has the right to claim our love and obedience.<\/p>\n
3. Mutual Regard. \u201cOur tribulation… our consolation\u201d (2Co_1:4-5). The Lord allows His children to have trial and persecution, that they may know how to comfort others in a like case.<\/p>\n
