The Spirit\u2019s commands are concise in expression, and consecrating as they are obeyed.<\/p>\n
1. Dead to sin in the death of Christ. \u201cReckon yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin,\u201d etc. (Rom_6:11).<\/p>\n
2. Definite in consecration. \u201cYield yourselves unto God\u201d (Rom_6:13, Rom_6:16).<\/p>\n
3. Distinct in discernment. \u201cExamine yourselves\u201d and prove whether in the faith (2Co_13:5).<\/p>\n
4. Desire to take a second place. \u201cSubmitting yourselves one to another\u201d (Eph_5:21).<\/p>\n
5. Direct your praise to the Lord, by \u201cspeaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns, and spiritual songs,\u201d and in all making melody to the Lord (Eph_5:19).<\/p>\n
6. Divine, from whence true comfort comes. \u201cWherefore comfort ye yourselves together\u201d (1Th_5:11).<\/p>\n
7. Disturb not the Divine word of \u201cBe at peace among yourselves\u201d (1Th_5:13).<\/p>\n
